Ashni Solanki and Nathan Page are lighting the junior golfing world on fire with victories in the Stuart Appleby Junior Golf tournament at Oakleigh Golf Course on May 4th. Both students are currently enrolled in our Junior Tiger program. Ashni receives lessons at Brighton Golf Course while Nathan receives lessons at Riverside Golf & Tennis Centre. Ashni came 1st in the Under 11s girls division and Nathan finished 1st in the Under 11s boys division. Results and pictures can be viewed at http://www.stuartappleby.com.au/pdf/2013%20Rookie%20Series%20-%20Results%20Oakleigh.pdf.

This is Ashni's 9th tournament win in 9 months and the word has spread of her success. She has also qualified through to the school regionals. Not bad for a nine year old!!! Ladies golf in Australia had better watch this space!

Congratulations to Nathan and Ashni on their fantastic acheivements.

Ivanhoe Junior Tiger Tournament

Thursday October 4th was our most recent Junior Tiger Tournament, here at Ivanhoe Public Golf Course.  It was during the second week of school holidays.  Sunny skies and temperatures upwards of 20 degrees were in store for our Junior Tigers, so it promised to be a good competition.

It was great to see lots of happy and talented Junior Tigers here to compete. Yellow, Red and White Tigers were all hungry for the trophies and glory up for grabs! We had 15 players in all with 10 of those our home grown talent from Ivanhoe.

The scoring and playing was of a very high standard. It seems that our Tigers and our coaches are doing well.

After a hard fought competition our triumphant winners were:-

Yellow Tiger - Nalani Gough (Ivanhoe) - 20 (3 holes, shortened course)

Red Tiger - Aryan Sharma (Brighton) - 22 (5 holes, shortened course)

White Tiger - Ashni Solanki (Brighton) - 47 (9 holes, ladies tees)

Congratulations to the winners and all who competed.

All our talented Junior Tigers at Ivanhoe Golf Course.

Schweppes Golden Ticket

Another important presentation on the day was the Schweppes Gold Ticket. The proud recipient was Oscar Wood. Oscar receives this prize for his keen dedication, enthusiasm, improvement and interest in golf, as well as being a very regular Junior Tiger Attendee. Oscar’s prize entitles him to special privileges at The Australian Masters Golf Tournament this November.

Also thanks to the parents who attended and helped out supervising and cheering on the young tigers.

Special thanks to Fiona, Matt and Andrew for their help on the day.

We hope to see you all here again for the next tournament early next year (and bring some of your friends along as well).

Best Wishes,

Chris Moore
